Guide
Awazon operates three official mirrors. All addresses begin with the prefix awazon followed by random characters until the string reaches fifty-six symbols. Length matters. Any address shorter or longer is incorrect. Typos matter less than structural errors. Count the characters if unsure. Copy paste introduces risks if copied from untrusted sources. Manual typing forces attention to each segment.
Confirm legitimacy against PGP-signed posts on Dread. Review current signed announcements here. Look for the latest rotation notice. Compare the listed addresses character by character. Do not rely on screenshots shared in forums. Images can be edited easily. Forwarded messages lack cryptographic proof unless you hold the key pair used to sign them. If someone sends you a link saying it is easier or newer, treat it as suspicious until verified independently.
Fake mirrors exploit visual similarity. Scammers register domains like awarzon, anwazon, or awazoun. These look nearly identical in small fonts. They match the first eight to twelve characters perfectly. Your eye skips differences further back. Always scroll to the end of the address bar. Check the final characters. Also inspect the color coding in Tor Browser. Legitimate .onion addresses show distinct styling compared to http or https links.
If a proposed address feels slightly off, stop. Do not log in yet. Cross-check with the full list maintained in our catalog. See verified mirror locations here. Trust the written record over oral recommendation. A friend remembering an address incorrectly has cost many accounts before. The margin for error is zero. One wrong letter leads to a phishing site designed to harvest your login credentials.
Red Flags Checklist
- Address length differs from fifty-six symbols.
- Missing or swapped letters near the beginning.
- Source provided link via image or screenshot only.
- Urgency pressure claiming old link expires soon.
- Request to enter credentials on a non-.onion domain.
Take thirty seconds to verify. That delay prevents permanent loss.
